WHY IT'S DONE THIS WAY // OUR STORY
We spent a year planning a large wedding with over 150 guests—pouring time, money, and energy into making sure everyone had a great experience.
But on the day of, we found ourselves overwhelmed. The things that truly mattered weren’t the grand gestures—they were the quiet, meaningful moments: our private vow exchange, a small welcome dinner with our closest loved ones, and the space to just be present.
It wasn’t until couples began asking to stay at our retreat home for their intimate gatherings that we realized… there was another way. We had always believed weddings had to be big, elaborate, and full of extended family—even people we barely spoke to.
Then we experienced something that changed everything: we attended a retreat with our own family. Away from distractions, immersed in nature, and grounded in intentional time together, we found healing, clarity, and deep connection. It brought our relationships to a new level. It helped us remember what truly matters.
That experience showed us what was possible when you slow down and begin this new chapter with presence. Not just a celebration—but a container for connection. Not just a ceremony—but a sacred pause to honor what you're stepping into.

Kristen and Roger took great care of us from the beginning...
They are on top of their communication and transparent with expectations of their guests and the accommodations provided. My husband and I booked this location for us and a few of our guests during our elopement. They also work with some exceptional private chefs and will provide micro weddings if it's something you desire. The way the house is decorated pays homage to the surrounding beauty and tranquility of Sedona. A short hike on a private trail reveals a section of Oak Creek. Every amenity is thought of within the retreat. We are so grateful to have picked this location and for the amazing people that own it. We are excited at the idea of staying here again!

From the moment we were in contact with Roger & Kristen, I never had to worry about anything...
I really loved how they took the time to get to know us and our vision for our day. Prior to arriving at the retreat, our entire parties baggage was lost at the Phoenix airport, Roger and Kristen so graciously offered to lend us anything they could to make our day still happen, right down to lending dress shoes for my husband. Thankfully, our bags were located and we received them before the wedding, but this act of kindness and generosity just speaks toward their incredible character. The retreat itself was absolutely stunning! Set in the hills of Arizonas most infamous red rock, this home just oozed deserty vibes. Each room had its own element design and was decorated so beautifully. The main living space was open and cozy, perfect for small or large get togethers. Lastly and probably my most favorite part of the retreat was the views from their huge deck where we had our wedding reception, followed by another upper deck surrounded by gorgeous twinkle lights. I seriously felt like I was in a Disney movie. Kristen's table scape was an art piece on its own- my guests are still talking about it. From the warm earthy tones and dessert burnt orange colors, you really feel Arizonas magical charm all around you. Roger was so helpful with mc'ing our first dance and helping us with our pre selected Playlists- we really didn't have to worry about anything. I couldn't have imagined a better day and I'm so glad that we picked Kristen and Roger's Elysian Retreat for it.

Don’t think, just book! We were lucky enough not only to be guests at The Elysian but also host our micro-wedding there! Their team was incredibly kind and dedicated - we were taken care of at every step of the way. Not only was the lead up to our big day amazing with The Elysian team, but their help day of was second to none. Don’t even get me started on the home… pictures can’t do the serenity felt there justice! As a testament to Kristen, Rodger, Dani and the entire Elysian Team - our group’s car wouldn’t start when we were checking out to leave Sedona from the Elysian early in the morning. When I tell you that Roger and Dani didn’t even blink before coming to help us out… Rodger was personally getting jumper cables for us while Dani was seeing if a neighbor had any. They showed up for us… before, during and after our wedding. We couldn’t be more grateful to have worked with them.

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN STAY ONSITE AT THE ELYSIAN RETREAT?
Our package includes lodging for up to 10 guests. If you’re inviting more than 10 people, those additional guests are welcome to attend the wedding ceremony and reception dinner for a fee of $250 per person, but they’ll need to arrange offsite lodging. Our coordinator is happy to help find nearby accommodations!
WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RETREAT PACKAGE?
We provide three (3) breakfast meals and three (3) dinners, including your wedding reception dinner. All meals are lovingly prepared and based on the number of paid retreat guests.
